As your mayor, I will never complain about the pressures of the job. If I earn your vote, you can count on me to be a steadfast leader. We need to hold onto the things that inspire us to move forward, even through the toughest of times. We need to be brought together by leaders who will listen to the vote and voice of the people, make tough decisions and not be influenced and swayed by the politics of the time or who sits in the governor’s office. With your support and participation, we’ll truly be a home where every resident feels welcomed. And a city where every young person who might be considering leaving — or any new resident looking for a place to call home — will truly belong.

The future we see in our elementary kids, I am that living future. The dream we have to be inclusive and welcoming, where everyone knows they belong, will take a leader who understands what our future can be. It’s time to build the Sioux Falls of the next 30 years. It’s time for inclusive and representative leadership. It’s time for equitable community centered policies and managed city growth.
